Phantom of the Opera London Review
The sets are insane. One moment you’re on a rooftop under a starry sky, the next you’re in a subterranean lake with actual fog rolling over the stage. How do they do that? Magic. I refuse to accept any other explanation.
The boat scene—you know the one—is so atmospheric you’ll check your own feet for water. Candelabras rise from the floor like they’re having a little party. It’s all so extra, and I loved every second of it.
Special effects? The mirror trick made the entire audience gasp. I won’t spoil it, but let’s just say I literally leaned forward and whispered, “Wait, what?”
