Can You Take Condoms on a Plane
Okay, be honest. Are you worried the TSA agent will pull out your condoms and hold them up with tongs? Stop it. That only happens in your anxiety dreams. Real life is boring. An agent might see them and think, “Cool, someone’s getting laid tonight.”
Or they might not even notice. The X-ray image looks like a little donut or a tiny frisbee. It’s utterly unremarkable. Your granola bars and sneakers are more likely to cause a secondary screening.
But if you’re still nervous? Put them inside a makeup bag. Or a book bag. Or a “tactical fanny pack.” Nobody is opening your bag to find prophylactics. They’re too busy looking for water bottles over three ounces. The audacity.
What If You’re Flying With a Partner?
Oh, this is my favorite scenario. You’re sitting next to your significant other, and you whip out a pack of condoms to show them. “Look honey, I packed them.” That’s either romantic or a little weird. I’m not judging. I’m just saying the person behind you might applaud your preparation.
Or maybe you’re flying solo and hoping to meet someone. Power to you. Having condoms in your carry-on is like having a spare tire. It’s better to have it and not need it, than need it and have to use a sandwich baggie and a rubber band. Please don’t do that.
