Plants to Plant in Autumn Uk
From November to March, you can buy roses that look like sad, brown sticks in a bag. Don’t be fooled. Soak those sticks in a bucket of water for a day. Then dig a wide hole, spread the roots out, and bury them up to the fat knot (the graft).
By June, those “sticks” will be covered in flowers. It feels like magic. It’s actually just biology, but let’s pretend it’s sorcery.
A Weird Rose Fact
Roses love bananas. Bury a banana peel at the bottom of the planting hole. The potassium makes them bloom like crazy. Your rosebush will smell fruity and be very pleased.
