In the Mouth of a Wolf
Okay, hypothetically, you’re in there. Step one: Don’t panic. Wolves have very sensitive gums, so if you stay calm, you might just tickle their throat. That’s not a survival tip, but it’s fun to imagine.
Step two: Distract the wolf. Throw a steak in the opposite direction. Or, if you’re in a metaphorical wolf’s mouth (like a terrifying job interview), just smile and nod. The wolf can’t eat you if you’re making it laugh.
Step three: Remember that the wolf is just a symbol. In real life, the “wolf” could be a big speech, a scary doctor’s visit, or your mother-in-law’s opinion on your haircut. You’ve survived way scarier things. Remember that time you thought you lost your phone, but it was in your hand? Pure heroism.
The Best Part: The Escape
The whole point of walking into the wolf’s mouth is to walk back out—bruised, maybe a little slobbery, but alive. It’s a story you’ll tell at parties. “I was literally in the mouth of a wolf, and I negotiated my way out.”
