Royal Mail Stockton on Tees Delivery Office
Remember that week before Christmas? You couldn’t move in Stockton for vans. The Delivery Office looked like Santa’s warehouse fell over.
Barcodes blinking. Staff running. A forklift dodging a tower of Beauty and the Beast box sets. It’s pure, glorious mayhem.
The office processed over 25,000 parcels in one day last December. That’s heavier than a small elephant. An elephant made of cardboard and hope.
The Lost & Found Corner
There’s a cardboard box in the corner labelled “We have no idea who this belongs to.” It’s famous. Inside: a single roller skate, a signed photo of a minor soap star, and a bag of cement.

Who ordered cement to a house that doesn’t exist? We’ll never know. That’s the beauty of the postal system.
It’s a little broken. And that makes it perfect.
