Is Dartford a Nice Place to Live
Here’s the honest truth. Dartford is a commuter town. That means a lot of people are tired and just want to get home. You won’t find everyone waving from their front garden.
But look deeper. There are great community groups, a thriving farmers’ market on Saturdays, and some proper old-school pubs. The Bull and Vicar is a classic. The George is ancient. You can drink where people have drank for centuries. That’s pretty cool.
Dartford rated the worst place to live in Kent and among the worst
And people are friendly if you make an effort. It’s not a village where they’ll bake you a pie on arrival. But it’s not a cold, lonely place either. It’s just… busy.
The Price Tag: The Elephant in the Room
Money talk. Dartford is expensive for Kent. But cheap compared to London. You get more house for your cash. A three-bed semi with a garden? That’s achievable if you’re not looking in the poshest bits.
Areas like Wilmington and Joydens Wood are the posher bits. Lovely trees, big drives. The town centre itself is more mixed. Hextable is nice too. Do your research, basically.
Rent is also steep. But you’re paying for that location. It’s the price of being able to stumble off a train from London and be home in time for EastEnders.
