The Nationals: One Shining Summer

Remember 2019? When the Nats went from a joke to World Series champions in the span of one October? It was the greatest baseball story ever told. Baby Shark. The rallying cry. The dugout dancing. It was pure, unadulterated joy. And then the owner blew it up like a toddler with a LEGO castle.

Now? We’re rebuilding. Again. But baseball is weird. You can watch a 95-loss team and still have fun because you’re sitting in the sun, eating a hot dog, and watching 21-year-olds try to throw a ball past a wall. Plus, the ballpark is gorgeous. The cherry blossoms bloom near the outfield. It’s basically a picnic with occasional baseball.
